Easy - Spread the LOVE Valentine Project
Easy - Spread the LOVE Valentine Project - I love this easy Valentine's Day Project. I took 12 X 18 construction paper, folded it in half, and cut out large hearts. The students wrote their names in sharpie (large), traced their name in glue and glittered it. Then I had the class brainstorm simple words to describe friends. They came up with: happy, kind, nice, care... I recorded the words on the whiteboard. Then I had the students use their digital device to look up synonyms for each of the words listed and write them under our starting words. (This gave the hearts a chance to dry.) Each student was then instructed to use the words on the board or ones they thought of on their own to write a kind sentence about each student in the class. You could have heard a pin drop as the students went from heart to heart spreading kindness through words. Once finished, the students could barely wait to read what their fellow classmates had written. I hung the hears in the room to enjoy until Valentine's Day.

ME in 2019!
ME in 2019!: I love having my students complete New Year's Resolutions. I also love having them complete self-portraits - ME in 2019! When you have the students write and share their resolutions as a friend, son/daughter & student and then display them on the bulletin board with their portraits - the students feel energized to start the new year (not to mention it looks adorable). You can find these resources at my TPT store: LINK
