#Selfie was a HIT

A Little About Me... #SELFIE: This made such a cute bulletin board & my students loved it!  The best was when I passed around my cell phone and asked each kiddo to take a selfie.  They knew just what to do.  You can find the "cell" phone template under my summer adventure post.  Enjoy!  Previous Post: I love introducing my classroom family the first week of school.  I want my class to learn as much as they can about their new classmates.  This "A Little About Me..." writing and selfie drawing should be fun!  My plan is to have my students brainstorm together the interesting information they could include in their writing.  Then, they will add a "#SELFIE" to their writings.  My plan is to share out the writings to help us learn more about each other.  I think it will make a super cute bulletin board too.  Our chrome books at school have cameras - so I feel this would be a great time to show my students how they work and have them take a real selfie!   You can print the writing paper FREE at my TPT store.

What's the Weather?

What's the Weather:  Science is a huge passion of mine.  Weather and Climate is part of our new NGSS standards.  I wanted the students to collect weather data for an entire school year.  Finding an easy way to do that took some thinking.  I love this year calendar from Amazon!  I bought both a 2018 & 2019 version.  I have a weather reporter.  Each day he puts up the sticker matching that day's weather. and reports to the class on it.  When we begin our science unit on Weather and Climate in December, we will already have loads of data to analyze.  Here is the Amazon LINK to the STICKERS & CALENDAR!

Flexible Seating

Flexible Seating:  One of the biggest hurdles a teacher faces with flexible seating is where to keep the students' daily belongings.  I LOVE these sold plastic magazine holders by Romanoff.  Do not even think about cardboard magazine holders.  These work perfectly for all of my students' needed daily supplies.  When my students enter the room, they grab their tub and place it at their learning environment for the day.  It makes management of student supplies a breeze.  You can check them out on Amazon:  LINK

Teachers also ask about my shelving system.  It is from every teacher's favorite spot... IKEA!  It is the KALLAX shelving system.  I loved the shelf so much I purchased 4!  LINK
