Reindeer Information Chart

Reindeer Information Chart:  This is a fun class project or buddy project.  I use it when my 3rd-grade students are meeting with their 1st-grade1st grade little buddies.  The students have to come up with all the information about "their" reindeer.  I love to put the reindeer information chart with cute construction paper reindeers.  I have used the foot reindeer and a hand reindeer pattern.  Both are super cute!  The reindeer information chart can also be used as a springboard for an informative writing about "their" reindeer.  Enjoy!

Elves vs. Reindeer - Opinion Writing

Elves vs. Reindeer (In my opinion...) - I love having my students decide whether it would be better to be an Elf or a Reindeer. It is a great way to bring persuasive writing into the classroom. I put together a brief reading on Elves and Reindeer. I also included some links for students to gain more information on reindeer: www.santaslapland.com and https://goo.gl/CaU1U0 In this download you will receive the readings, note-taking sheets, and a final draft writing paper. I love to add a hand-drawn elf or reindeer to each writing (depending on which one the kiddo picks). It makes a super cute bulletin board. #TeamELF #TeamREINDEER

A Turkey's Plea - Persuasive Letter Writing

A Turkey's Plea (Persuasive Letter Writing): This is a great way to get your kiddos writing persuasive letters. The students pretend they are the turkey (Thanksgiving Turkey). The students have to write the farmer a letter persuading him to not eat them for Thanksgiving this year. In this download, you will receive a GP - graphic organizer, first draft writing and a second draft writing. I like to have my students make turkeys to go with their writings.

Thankful Acrostic Poetry:

Thankful Acrostic Poetry: I love FALL. Nothing says FALL more than being thankful. I love focusing my class on the many things in their life they should be thankful for. I created 4 pages for this lesson. The first page is a grid with the letters T-H-A-N-K-F-U-L in each box. The class can work together or in small groups to brainstorm words that match the theme of THANKFUL and begin with that particular letter. Words can then be used as springboards for students to write their THANKFUL acrostic poem. In this pack, I include a brainstorm grid sheet, 1st draft poetry sheet, illustration art page, and a 2nd draft poetry page. I love focusing on being Thankful all year long... but especially in November!
